Mikaela and Maia are young ex-patriots living in Eastern Europe. Since the age of 2 months Mikaela has been residing in Poland. In spite of being born in Poland, Mikaela's sister Maia chooses to retain her US citizenship and has spent her whole life (of nearly 3 years) in Poland. Maia has spent a total of 6 weeks in the country of her citizenship while Mikaela has lived a total of 10 months in that great land. The Layer girls are well-adjusted to their adopted country, but gladly also very American.
